A hidden gem. Technically a gay bar, but Mag's welcomes everyone! An eclectic assortment of bartenders; GIANT glasses of wine for cheap. You never know what you'll see here. Life music sometimes ; wonderful Jazz jam sessions some nights, otherwise a great stream of 80's songs on the jukebox...

This used to be Jean Pauls, but still has the same vibe. You can see a drag show, or any number of random shows. Drinks are reasonable, and there is usually a cast of characters hanging out.

I suggest this spot most on Saturdays and Sundays during the day/ morning times. This is when Princess Stephanie works (also an Airbnb host) she is hilarious drag personality but is also one of the top mixologists in the nation (no kidding). Like an old-timey pharmacist, she prescribes your drink if you let her and it's always a hit. This is a bar that has some fun shows, dance classes, mixology, and yet has the feel of being in the new Orleans equivalent of Cheers just with an occasional character as your bartender.
