I love this park. My favorite. I first went here because I was told this place is loaded with bats at night. I would say maybe 5-10 in the evening. Lots of seals and Sea Lions on the floating docks in the water. Lots of birds, oysters, eagles. You can even Kayak there. I bike here several times in the summer on the Chehalis trail.

Sunsets. Blackberries. Dilapidated train track bridge. Beach. In the summertime at dusk the maternity colony of bats emerges. Go.

Hiking trial to beach where a railroad trestle has created the perfect habitat for bats!

This is my favorite walk and view in Olympia. The trail is paved and leads to surrounding views of the Puget Sound. If you like a longer walk, you can take the forest trail.

3 miles of walking trails in lush forest, ending at an old train trestle which now serves as seal, bird & bat habitat. Bring binoculars of you have them! WA Discover Pass required to park & unfortunately you cannot pay for a pass on site. Alternatively, park at the Chehalis Western Trail parking lot for free & walk down the road to the Conservation Area.
