This 10-mile loop on trails designed specifically for mountain bikes takes you through dense forest and open meadows above Fairfax. You’ll need a $5 one-day permit, which you can buy from Sunshine Bicycles in Fairfax. When you buy your permit, I highly recommend you get a trail map, too. Otherwise you may go around in circles in the dense redwood forest.

Single track riding, no parking at camp, you have to park outside scout camp

This is one of the best Mountain Biking parks in California. You can actually go up the hill three-quarters of a mile and start there. Its pretty steep but if your going there you should be able to ride.

On the way up to the Boy Scouts Camp, up Iron Spring Road you'll find the famous Tamarancho Mountain Biking trails. Unbelievable views and some of the best mountain biking you'll ever experience. Day passes can be purchased at any of the local bike shops in town.
