Ensign Peak – This short uphill hike above the Utah State Capitol Building offers panoramic views of the Salt Lake Valley. There is a monument at the top because Brigham Young hiked to this peak soon after arriving in the valley.

A short hike that pays off with an excellent view of the whole Salt Lake valley. Go during sunset or nighttime for extra wows.

Short hike little less than a mile round trip. Great views of the whole Salt Lake Valley and Great Salt Lake. Kid friendly. Toddlers might not want to walk that far.
