Galena is: a historic rustic cabin; an amazing jumping off spot to mountain biking in summer or snowshoeing and nordic skiing in winter; one of the few places in the world where you can ask for a 'loaner dog'; the coziest place for delicious food and a beer or glass of wine ... or the finest egg nog in the world around the holidays. I love this place. Don and Erin, the owners, make everyone feel welcome ... it's generally open summer and winter ... for breakfast and lunch. They do some full-moon and special event dinners too.

Excellent for winter skiing, spending the night in a yurt, or summer hiking. Galena has it all and AMAZING food too!

There are trails for hiking all over the Wood River Valley. Carbonate Mountain is right across the street. Everyone has a different hiking trail they love, so ask a local!

Great place to go mountain biking cross country skiing and/or hiking for all ages, have a great lunch and enjoy the iconic historic lodge. Probably some of the best cross-country skiing in the country. Great lunch & brunch, food is fabulous

We love cross-country skiing from Galena Lodge. In addition to a lot of wonderful trails (for snowshoeing and hiking, too), hanging out by the fireplace at the lodge is a favorite post-ski activity. We also love the home-style cooking at the lodge. If you're around for one of their special dinners, don't miss it!
