Seafood lovers must - locally famous for it's queues (but worth the wait) to get in as it's based on first come first served, BYO alcohol and bread - they'll do all the cooking of the seafood. Think basic surroundings - with elegant food, they have just recently started taking a small amount of bookings so good luck, you won't be disappointed.

Simple and fresh fish and seafood in a shed on Mersea Island. Take your own bread and wine. Delicious.

Well-known local family run seafood 'shed' restaurant serving locally caught fresh seafood, BYO bottle and bread. no bookings taken so turn up early during peak season. Worth a day trip to the beach too.
