This park is admittedly a little bit out of the way for most travelers without a vehicle - drop by if you check out West Seattle, or take the ferry to Vashon Island - but we're adding it as it's our personal favorite gem. Watch the sun set here over the island and Olympic Mountains; it's unreal how private the beach is given the spectacular views.

This little beach is a ten minute walk away, and worth every step. Play a game of tennis, swing on the swings, and watch the seals pop their heads up.

Pictured above is Lowman park, it is a five minute walk down the hill and offers some pretty amazing views of the Olympic National Park mountain range and some dreamy islands in between (Vashon is to your left and Blake Island, a state park, is middle, Bainbridge is to the right). Bring the picnic basket (above the fridge) and sit out on the grass. If you walk past Lowman park you can get onto the waterfront trail that leads you through Lincoln park. This is a great running spot in the morning or a place to stroll in the evening with your dog. Continue up the hill and you will be in Lincoln park proper with trails through the trees, along the bluff, benches and picnic spots, athletic fields and plenty more.
