There are markets. And then there are Markets! The market in Olhao is an amazing mix of hustle, bustle, smells and just loads of amazingness! And even if there is a lot of people there – this is still a very well organized market.

Because Olhão is known for being a fishing town, it is a must to visit our lovely historic fish market for some local seafood & fresh fruits. You can then stop next door to one of our cafés for a nice espresso or galão (a cup of 1/2 coffee 1/2 milk) with a fresh pastry. We recommend getting our favorite pastry, pastel de nata, which is one of Portugal's most traditional and delicious pastries, a thick, flaky, sweet, (did I mention delicious?) custard tart.
