Maitland Bay Beach is a short but steep walk, and is the location of an historic shipwreck that can still be seen on clear days. The beach has a number of caves, perfect for families wanting to explore and find buried treasure!

Check the weather, this beach can be a bit rough on a windy day, otherwise, it can be devinne. Beautiful bushwalks to get there.

Maitland Bay is a gorgeous beach hidden in Bouddi National Park. You can only access it via a bushwalk – there’s no road access A few trails lead to Maitland Bay. They’re all great! The Maitland Bay track is short and quick but steep. The track is well-maintained and has plenty of stone steps. You can also get to Maitland Bay on the Coastal Walk (see above) or the Mount Bouddi walking track.

The walking track to Maitland Bay is a 15-20 minute drive, then a 15-20 minute walk to the Bay, which is absolutely stunning. If you are there mid-week you could have the entire beach to yourself. The walk is on a well kept track, with steps in some places that winds through the Bouddi National Park, so no fur-friends allowed. Wear walking shoes and pack plenty of water, the walk does get the heart pumping, particularly on the way back up. The beach is stunning and a great spot for swimming, snorkelling or lazing around. We usually pack a picnic and spend most of the day there, and you can generally get a spot in the shade at the base of the rock faces that surround the bay
