A lovely little town with gorgeous mountain views. Cute shops and great restaurants will keep you busy in town. Otherwise rent a kayak or paddle board for fun on the lake, or have afternoon tea at The Prince of Wales Hotel, an historic building with stunning views of the lake. Season runs from May to September.

Heading south into the mountains is pretty quick and the southern access to the mountains is preferred by many traveling over the northern or straight west access from the city.

Waterton is amazing not only for the quaint town itself, but the gorgeous lake, cute spots to grab a bite and best of all ... the hikes! One of them takes you from Canada, around the lake, ending in the US. You then take a ferry back to where you started. Others take you up ladders and through crawl spaces, opening up to a private lake! For something easy with a gorgeous view, check out the bear hump hike.
