This is the most unique and rare find I can recommend. It doesn't look like much, but the food is devine! Egyptian food which doesn't have a menu, but what the chef has set for that day. Ali is a genuine character with over 30 yrs in that location. If you want something authentic, this is it!

Amazing, authentic Egyptian cuisine. This place is located in the heart of Astoria (Steinway St and 25th Ave) offering a great menu with vegetarians in mind.

Ali is not only a great creative chef, he's quite the entertainer in his tiny cafe. It's an actual Egyptian restaurant, not a sandwich and coffee place. The lamb brains (if he has them) are heavenly. Bourdain will concur.
