This is where our Revolutionary leader was murdered along with members of his cabinets and supporters. It is also historic in that the French and British fought over this area which has the most panoramic view of the city

Fort George is a historic scenic point overlooking the city of St. George's, Grenada and has an outstanding panoramic view of the harbour and surroundings. The Fort is still in use today by the islands Police Force and it is a tourist attraction as well. The minimal entrance fee goes to the upkeep of the Fort and grounds, it is well wort the price of admission. I enjoyed my visit to Fort George and the picturesque panoramic scenery inspired me to take a closer look at other visible points of interest nearby. There are several vantage lookout points on the Forth all with differing and quite interesting views of the city and beyond. An integral part of the city-scape and a great to visit an

French in the 1600s, and originally named Fort Royal, it was renamed Fort George in 1763, in honor of King George III when the British took possession of the island. It is basically a small bastion tracer fort, which means that each level can give covering fire for the other level, and has been in constant use in one form or another since it has been built. It was once the heart of the town, but as the town has grown and times have changed, it has been relegated to being used as a simple extensive building. Currently, it houses the Royal Grenada Police force but has sections that are open to the public. The 360-degree views are spectacular.
