Sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota Bay, Longboat Key boasts some of the best beaches near Sarasota. Access to these nice beaches may be limited, but trust me, they are definitely worth it. Once you arrive in these white sand havens, you’ll be rewarded with 10 miles of uncrowded and untouched beaches. There are no concessions and amenities available at these beaches. So, make sure to pack food, beach chairs, drinks and other essentials before visiting these seaside hangouts.

Longboat Key is littered with beaches some private for resorts or homes only. If you make the trip to longboat be sure to park in a public spot so you don’t get ticketed. Keep in mind that longboat is north “past” Lido beach. It is a key because you have to go over a bridge to get on and off it. During season this can come with traffic during popular times.
