If you are celebrating a very special occasion or you've just received a huge bonus at work! I'd recommend Roots. It now holds one Michelin Star and is run by chef Tommy Banks. Situated alongside the River Ouse and within a short walking-distance from York train station. The food is seasonal and fantastically creative.
