Though I often lack the patience to navigate the crowded pavements (sidewalks), Oxford Street is one of the big shopping areas in London. You’ll find mostly chain European and American shops (e.g., Primark, Gap, etc.), as well as a few shopping institutions/department stores like John Lewis (which I love) and Selfridges. They also have some fabulous lights during the Christmas shopping season.
