A must-do, this famous lake is home to a wide variety of outdoors activities. Pro tip: rent a kayak, paddle board, canoe or boat around sunset time to watch 1.5+ Million bats go out from under the South Congress bridge! You may also make a reservation at a bat sightseeing boat which includes a guided tour.

The 10 mile lady bird lake loop is perfect for a run or bike ride. Plenty of great sights to see around the loop!
Take a walk around the Lady Bird Lake to enjoy great views of downtown. It is a river but we Austinites call it a lake. There are one mile, three mile and 5 mile loops
You can go Kayaking or Paddleboarding on the lake and there is a running trail all the way around it that is awesome! I like the 4 mile loop.
La and flood dy Bird Lake is a river-like reservoir on the Colorado River in Austin. The city of Austin created the reservoir in 1960 as a cooling pond for a new city power plant. The lake, which has a surface area of 416 acres, is now used primarily for recreation and flood control.
This area is home to a scenic hike and bike trail as well as water activities such as stand-up paddleboarding and canoeing.
Scenic trails, kayaking, great spots to chill and have a picnic and a fantastic view of downtown!

“The pink-granite building is the centerpiece of downtown Austin, perched on a hill at 12th Street and Congress Avenue. Free guided tours are held daily, starting in the South Foyer, but brochures are also available on the first floor for self-guided tours. The Texas Legislature meets every two years, so you’ll have to check the schedule if you want to see an actual session in progress.”

“Zilker Park is where ACL happens, where a great Zilker Christmas Light Show is, where the Stevie Ray Vaughn bronze is. Close enough to Casa Willow and Holly Neighborhood. Google what is happening at Zilker when you come.”
