If you like a country fair...then you'll want to be in Blue Hill for Labor Day Weekend. After all, it's what the world has been waiting for (or at least that is what the sign said). This has been a family favorite for many years with my kids.

This is where the Annual Blue Hill Fair is held as well as the weekly (Saturday 9-noon) Blue Hill Farmers Market. They have a 1/2 mile track if you fell like getting some exercise.

The Blue Hill Fair is a true "Down to Earth" Country Fair. Annually scheduled around Labor Day weekend, the fair will run from September 1-5, 2016 this year and boasts some of the finest entertainment, attractions, and exhibits. Situated in the small coastal town of Blue Hill, Maine, at 233 Ellsworth Road, the Fair draws thousands from all over the state to enjoy a fun-filled weekend. Highlights include: Stunt dog extravaganzas, horse pulls, 4H sheep, a busy midway stage with jazz, country and jug bands nightly, often on several stages, Oxen pulls, llama demonstrations, a beef recipe cookoff, a wild blueberry pancake breakfast, Wilbur's 5H road race (would that be Wilbur, the pig, a pig race, inspired by local resident EB White's Charlotte's Webb story? Probably!) - stand up comedians - sheep dog trials, Mammoth Aerial Fireworks display (which you will see from the Bungalow) - herdsman livestock show - Demolition Derby - and a dairy goat show They also have Vegetable, Fruit, and Flower Displays, as well as Home Arts and Crafts, Fast food, and lots of rides like the Ferris Wheel with Dollar Day....
