Al-Yusra Restaurant CBD

Al Yusra is one of the oldest Somali restaurants in Nairobi. There’s a beautiful balcony, and you’ll find a diverse crowd here, including Somali businessman, Kenyan workers, and local university students. The menu is filled with authentic Somali food like roasted camel, and all the menu items come served in a banana leaf. If you visit on a Friday afternoon, you’ll catch the Somali community pouring out of the mosque next door after prayers and straight into the restaurant for coffee. It’s a nice window into the mixing of cultures in the downtown area.
