beach, lake, bird blind, soccer, pedestrian trails for all weather, softball complex (irrigated from the lake!), dog park, geocaching, fishing with a cleaning station, boat ramp. They don't spray for weeds! Excellent nature lodge where you can buy a fishing license.

Large swimming beach, playground, and a shaded 3.1 mile trail loop that is perfect for a run/walk! Flat terrain.

On the edge of Des Moines and this park has it all. Playgrounds, trails, shelter houses, soccer fields, softball fields, Blue Heron Lake, swimming beach, fishing, Nature Lodge, dog park, archery facility, ice rink.....you name it they have it!! And only 25 minutes away from the BnB!

If it is hot and you want a lake swimming area, this is the best in Des Moines.
