The monument is the highest point in Clocaenog Forest and there are stunning views across the Vale of Clwyd. Lord Bagot erected the monument in 1830 to commemorate the planting of a conifer forest used to build the trenches in WWI. The small roadside car park is the starting point for a short walk to the Pincyn Llys monument.

A lovely walk that includes a an opportunity in the season to pick bilberries and blackberries as you walk. Great for younger children and short walks, but can be extended to a beautiful hilltop ramble.
