El Dorado Trail Head
El Dorado TrailMy girlfriend used to go up here as a teenager, young, in love, and have picnics near the waterways they discovered! I found out it's only 7 minutes from Cebu! Serenity, and peace from the hustle bustle, great for meditative walks, clearing your mind, and connecting with nature!

Here are some directions from the "get off your gass" site, encouraging walking and nature that may help with finding the site and help with easy parking:
Drive to the Gold Discovery Park in Coloma on Hwy 49. There is no parking near the trailhead, so you need to park in one of the Gold Discovery Park parking lots. Pay the $5 per car parking fee at the Park HQ bldg and place the receipt in your car windshield. Walk across the one lane South Fork American River bridge. Pass the campground and take the first right turn onto Bayne Road. The trailhead is directly across from the dark brown house at 6060 Bayne Rd. There is a large white sign at the trailhead that says, “Mt Murphy Phase II Acquisition”. Climb over the padlocked green double gate in front of the large white sign.

Juxtapose this against the new, fresh modern downtown, and you have a recipe for a wonderful city! Fun, education, and richness! (Free! Last I checked!)

Because this is only 6 Minutes from Cebu Lane, and because I LOVE Old Victorian houses, (My first home ever was a 7,000 square foot Victorian, complete with a widow's peak, mahogany library, etc) I thought I would add this here. I cannot find any evidence of it being a BnB however, as the research suggests it is now private. Worth a drive by look see..

My friends were having dinner in San Francisco CA the other night, and one friend pulled out and extraordinary bottle of desert wine, as I was talking about Placerville. I asked where it was from, to which he said "somewhere in the Sierra Nevadas"...I checked the bottle and it was here!! Little did I know that it took the "gold" in a very prestigious wine competition! (The wine, by the way, is called "fashionably late", and it is WONDERFUL!) (11 minutes from Cebu)
