One of the few places you can get up close to the Severn River in Annapolis. Just 2.2 miles from Calico Cottage Guest House, this small city park has parking, grassy area with picnic tables and a small beach. You can launch kayaks from here and fish. No swimming allowed but you can layout on the beach!

Jonas and Anne Catharine Green Park is nestled beneath the shadow of the United States Naval Academy Bridge on MD RT 450 just outside the City of Annapolis, Maryland. Named for colonial era Annapolis residents and Maryland’s public printer Jonas Green and his wife Anne Catharine, this tiny park boasts expansive views of the Severn River, fishing from the remains of the old bridge, a place for picnics, quiet interludes, plein aire painting, kayaking, canoeing, hiking and bicycling. The park serves as the headquarters for the Anne Arundel County Trail System and is part of the East Coast Greenway, a national trail stretching from Maine to Florida. Patrons can enjoy amenities such as no entrance fee, picnic tables, a fire pit, indoor public restrooms, a drinking fountain and a beach for sunning or launching hand-carried craft. Fishing is allowed 24-7 on the pier, the extension of the old road bed, but the park itself closes at dusk. Due to a strong undercurrent and deep shelf, swimming is not permitted.
