About an hour or so's walk along the ridge of The Malverns Hills, past Wynds Point and over the other side of the hill. Fantastic pub with great ales and traditional pub food and stunning views.

The Chase in Upper Colwall is another cosy country pub, with a wood burner. It allows dogs and is popular with locals. The bar staff are lovely and the food is great. They start serving at 6:30pm – in case you’re planning a walk to end there, which is a nice afternoon option. In summer particularly, it is nice to sit on the deck and admire the view across Herefordshire to Wales. Large parties should book for dinner.
