Our family enjoy hiking some of the hundreds of trails in this reserve. plus the views are breathtaking
There is tons of hiking in this area, and it provides great views of the city. (Plus it isn't as tough a climb as Camelback.)
South Mountain has many trails for all levels of hikers. Parking can be tough during peak season, so we recommend an early start. Be sure to bring water and wear sunscreen. Turn around when you have finished 1/2 of your water!

Just south of us are the South Mountains with many hiking trails that vary from easy to moderate. See our native cactus and other desert plants. If you're lucky, you may see a coyote or two. Nice scenic views of the southern parts of Phoenix, including Awatukee.
South Mountain Park is 16,000 acres of beautiful desert hills. In they daytime, there are dozens of trails to hike ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. In the evening, drive to the summit and check out the sunset and the awesome view of Phoenix after dark.
