Both shows are created with two TriCity theatres: The Merry Wives of Windsor – a comedy prepared with Wybrzeże Theater, has already won the audience’s hearts. The new production, the musical Kiss Me, Kate! is coproduced with Teatr Muzyczny w Gdyni. The thrust stage arrangement provides STANDING PLACES – the cheapest and the most exciting ones, allowing direct contact with the actors and SITTING PLACES in wooden galleries. The performances are surtitled in English and German. The Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre has prepared many attractions for the summer 2016 season. Among many fun things to do are “Kiss Me, Kate!” the musical, “The Merry Wives of Windsor” theatre play and guided tours of the theatre. The theater building is inspired by a 17th-century prototype, the interior of the main hall is a partial reconstruction of the Feathercraft School, built in Gdansk in 1635, which is depicted on Peter Willer's prints.Opened in 3 minutes, the roof allows you to show the spectacles in daylight under the open sky (under "Elizabethan conditions").The building uses such technical solutions as the mobile stage system and the audience. Depending on the layout of the stage and the audience (the interior is adaptable) the theater can accommodate up to 600 people in theatrical setting and up to 1000 people in the concert setting.
