Best local beach in town! Bring water shoes as the beach is rough but has little traffic, great for adults, families or couples.

"Quieter neighbour to Barrie’s bustling Centennial Park waterfront, Johnson’s beach provides a two-acre wedge of sandy expanse along with beautiful views of the shoreline and the city proper. The views from the beach stretch out across Kempenfelt Bay with the city skyline as a backdrop. Often there are also views of marine activity. Johnson’s beach offers parking, washroom facilities, and easy access to the nearby North Shore multi-use trail. The beach is open for swimming from late June until mid-August, during which time a lifeguard is on duty daily from 11:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. There are lifejackets available for the public to borrow at the Lifeguard’s office. No smoking and no dogs are permitted on the beach. The Yacht Club is located next door on one side. It is an ideal destination for those seeking some semblance privacy."

Quiet local beach. Accessible by car or ride your bike in your suit and bring a towel.
