In 1999 werd het theater geopend door Joop van den Ende. Chicago was de eerste musical die opgevoerd werd. Daarna volgden succesvolle musicals als Saturday Night Fever, MAMMA MIA!, The Wiz, Dirty Dancing, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, We Will Rock You, Miss Saigon, The Little Mermaid, Jersey Boys en Moeder, Ik Wil Bij De Revue. Sinds september staat het Beatrix Theater in het teken van de musical The Bodyguard. Naast musicals kun je in het Beatrix Theater ook terecht voor concerten, familie- en cabaretvoorstellingen.
