Just 5 minutes’ walk away from the cottage, Croyde’s famous freehouse is our favourite place to visit, with great food including breakfast, specials board, surf reports and live music throughout the year, don’t get bitten by the rattler cider, it’s 6%!
There’s something quite beautiful about the unpredictability of ‘The Thatch’. A little like the ocean that laps up against our shores, you never know what type of atmosphere you might find yourself amongst. Some days are peaceful and melancholic, others take on a whole life of their own as they mix…
Serves food all day, including breakfast, with a great selection of beers, and a well stocked gin shelf, it is a must visit. Dogs are welcome.
Just a stones-throw away, in heart of the village. Lively local, good food (hearty portions!), occasional live music.
