Historic place to eat. Very good food, a little fancy. Step back in time and experience more than 300 years of history and hospitality at The Wayside Inn® in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Come enjoy our grounds, dine or stay in our historic inn, participate in our programs and activities to learn about the early inhabitants of the landscape; about the How(e) family who settled and farmed the land, operated the Inn, and who fought in the wars for independence; about poets and artists; and about Henry Ford and his vision to create a living history museum here. The Wayside Inn continues to inspire new tales.

Sudbury/Concord Area-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote about it in Tales of the Wayside Inn. Sudbury also boast a the school house where Mary had a Little Lamb was written.

This place is great in Sudbury. It is so much more than a restaurant. It boasts a beautiful old mill and space to walk around.... It has been associated for historical reasons with Longfellow the famous early american writer. Oh the stories I could tell about the fun I had here as a child. But I am a bit ashamed of them. It was one of those rare places my dad would encourage me to get my naughty on as a kid. This place always makes me smile and it is not far from one of the nicest candy stores in the area.... Shut up. That is what you do when you steal people's wishes from out of the stream looking for the silver if you can find it when you are 7.

Scenic early American restaurant with some period rooms available to view. The old grist mill is across the street and it is a bucolic location.
