Uchida, Is one of the best kept secrets of Victoria. Located in Nootka Court by the Bug Zoo you will find traditional Japanese cuisine. Try the Tuna Don. Not the best for vegans or vegetarians.

Best Japanese food in town. Farm to table (and it's their own farm). Get the tuna belly don. Only open for lunch. Go early--11:30am--it's popular and they run out fast.

This place is as authentic Japanese as it gets. Only open for lunch (and make sure to get there well before 1 pm as the menu items sell out quickly!). The menu is changed daily and all food is prepared to perfection - Japanese salads made with very interesting veggies, grilled fish and chicken wings (possibly the best in town, they way these are made!). This is a place for a hearty, home-style cooked lunch, not so much for sushi.

Weekdays 11-2 only. Well worth it. Small menu, small room. Amazing food, and great service. You can feel like a true local eating here.
