Located near the foot of Trajan's Column this gem of an attraction should be on your must see list when in Rome. Simply put, it is like stepping back to see what it was like in a patricians house 2000 years ago.

A must to be seen if you want to know more about the ancient Rome. It is compulsory to book in advance to secure a place. A tour that will bring you to the old Roman period. A house of a wealthy roman family with also a thermal bath inside, found by chance during some restoration works.

Needs reservations for this excellent virtual tour of excavations below Palazzo Valentini, which was curated by Piero Angela, a tv host of documentary programs in Italy. Good bookshop at end of tour.
