This historic lookout site is located on the top of a hill—Turó de la Rovira—where you can have a walk through the bunkers built during the Spanish Civil War. With incredible views from the north of the city, it’s the perfect alternative to the more crowded Montjuïc across town. Bring some drinks and snacks and find a little spot to sit. There isn’t much shelter from the sun, so I’d recommend going towards the end of the day, at least during summer months, when the heat is not as intense.
Tips van locals
Panoramic views of Barcelona from Spanish civil war bunkers where anti-aircraft guns were installed. Nice 20 min walk up the mountain.
Great views at sunset. You can take your own drink and sandwich and have a little picnic over the city
Bunkers del Carmen has an amazing 360 degrees view of the city. You can get there by metro or bus to the last stop and then an 20minutes walk to the hill is needed.

“The Parc de la Ciutadella is a park on the northeastern edge of Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. For decades following its creation in the mid-19th century, this park was the city's only green space. The 70-acre (280,000 m2) grounds include the city zoo (once home to the albino gorilla Snowflake, who died in 2004), the Palau del Parlament de Catalunya, a small lake, museums, and a large fountain designed by Josep Fontserè (with possible contributions by the young Antoni Gaudí). ”

“This is possibly the coolest location for a theme park – on top of a mountain. It’s the only one in the city, and to get there you have to take the steep funicular. There’s a good mix of classic and more modern rides, with many suitable for all ages. It’s also next door to Sagrat Cor, atop which stands a huge statue of Jesus, and you can climb up to its base.”
