Padise Monastery is an architectural and historical site of great importance, not only in Estonian terms but also in those of Northern Europe as a whole. It was constructed in the 14th century by Cistercian monks, but extensions and improvement work continued for more than 200 years. It fell into ruin after a number of wars, with restoration only commencing in the 1930s.

Padise Monastery is open to visitors after a thorough restoration! The monastery was built by the Cistercians in the 14th century. The monastery was built over a period of 200 years. After the recently completed thorough restoration, the monastery is open to visitors again.
