Tips van locals
Get in your cardio with a safe hike to the top of this dunes. Parking and restrooms are available. A National Park Pass is required along the entire Sleeping Bears Dune National Lakeshore.
A must see if you're in the area. You can go to the first "top" for an incredible view of the surrounding area, or spend hours hiking up and down dunes until you get to Lake Michigan. If you opt for the long hike, bring lots of water and only do so if you are able to handle difficult hiking. …
This is a must do for visitors. Not for the faint at heart. It looks easier than it is. You can get to Lake Michigan from the dunes, but it is about a 3 mile hike. Kids love the dunes!
