Tips van locals
Hiking to the waterfall can be arranged. Stop by Kalele Bookstore in Kaunakakai and ask Teri the owner how to contact the Cultural Tour folks.
This valley is still alive with taro fields and flower farms, owned and tended by local families. The black sand beach is lovely and the hike to the waterfall (by tour only) is memorable and easy.
Worth the hike! Fantastic views, romantic walk and a freshwater pool for swimming. Bring mosquito spray and a towel.
