I recommend this place because is one of the most beautiful buildings in the City. Inaugurated as a monastery in 1651. Must take a look to the interior patio from the second level and have a mojito or good wine and tapas, especially in the stairs facing Cristo street. There is also an old chapel and…

Beautiful hotel, worth going in for a drink and wandering around the lobby. Formerly a convent for nuns.

Historic Site
“All streets have a special charm in Old San Juan. Cristo street was the first cobblestone paved street in the americas. The cobblestones in these street are the original ones that date back to the 17th century. They are made of iron ore and have a bluish sheen. The San Juan Cathedral and a lot of shops are just around the corner from the Bonaire.”

“Located at Cristo street in front of El Convento Hotel and Caleta de las Monjas. Some of it's Chapels date back to 1536 what positions it as one of the three oldest in América between Santo Domingo and Habana. ”

“Walkway to see Puertorrican artisans and vendors, try a piragua. You can also see the "Raices Fountain" that commemorates the 500 anniversary of the founding of San Juan. Walk all the way to the San Juan Gate and past this till the end to encounter the stairs that take you to " El Morro Castle".”
