The Santo Spirito district, located in the south-west of the historical center, includes a vast area of the Oltrarno and has as its center in Piazza Santo Spirito. The Oltrarno is a meeting point par excellence of intellectuals, artists and bohemians, in 2017 Lonely Planet elected it first in the ranking of the most “cool” neighborhoods in the world. The square, animated by day markets, tourists and art students, is one of the chosen places of the Florentine nightlife. The square comes alive in the early evening when the artisan workshops and art studios close and the scene is stolen from the nightclubs, restaurants, cafes of various types, the majority with outdoor spaces.
