The main theatre of the city, an extraordinary example of Italian architecture. In the late 18th Century the city's middle-class decided to show its financial strength by creating a theatre that was bigger than the one built by the aristocrats families... showing-off has sometimes has positive consequences. It was named after Francesco Morlacchi, probably the most celebrated composers born in Perugia. Il teatro più importante dell'Umbria con una programmazione sempre ricercata e di altissimo livello. Il Teatro Morlacchi, già Teatro del Verzaro, è il maggiore teatro di Perugia. Prende il nome dal celebre musicista perugino Francesco Morlacchi. Costruito nel 1780 ha quattro ordini di palchi e un loggione che si affacciano sulla platea per una capienza di 785 posti.
