Located near the second circle, District is a chic rooftop bar with views of downtown Amman, located on top of the Shepherd Hotel. The fourth-story roof had been lying dormant for over 10 years, used as junk storage. Sawalha rescued the unused space and designed all the lights, sleek chairs, tables, and sinks to define District’s unique identity. He pulled together his favorite elements of steel, wood, and cement, complemented by greenery for a “raw and authentic design experience.” Sawalha beams, “District is Amman’s summer spot.”

This is a high end rooftop bar/restaurant, which even in winter is absolutely worth to visit. We have been here twice while in Amman. They are open from 1pm and have happy hour each day from 4-8pm (30% on discount on food and 50% on drinks). Staff is very helpful and friendly. In the summer they have a great terrace outside, but you can probably also use it in winter if the temperature is ok (see also picture(s)). Both the selection of food and drinks are extensive and the food is delicious. For example : Veggie platter, sushi tower, thai beef salad, fried calamari, etc. All real good. Great italian and jordan wine. Maybe the only remark is that prices are relatively high and are stated on menu without the taxes and service (approx 17% together).
