Tips van locals
Take a pleasant self-guided walk through lush tropical vegetation to scenic vista points overlooking the cascading Kahuna Falls and the free-falling Akaka Falls, which plunges 442 feet. Stop to pet the goats on the way there at Honomu Goat Dairy.
If you're taking a drive along the Hamakua Coast, ʻAkaka Falls is a great stop to make. There's a short walk through beautiful tropical rainforest to get to the best viewing spot.
