Chesters by the River incredibly popular and with good reason. Some of the best vegetarian and vegan cooking around, good coffee, a lovely bakery. Highly recommended and you can tie it in with a flat walk from Skelwith bridge to Elterwater. Skelwith Bridge, Nr Ambleside, Cumbria. LA22 9NJ

Excellent riverside cafe with an excellent shop. Sells a thoughtful variety of beautifully designed gifts, keepsakes, items for the home etc. It’s a great stopping point on numerous, lovely walks but bring a bag for all your lovely purchases.

A walk down the hill from the cabin to the bridge at Skelwith you will find Chesters By The River. A vegetarian Cafe with wonderful coffee and a selection of vegetarian food. Great location for enjoying a drink and bite to eat.
