About 15 minutes drive) left from compound, is the Colobus Centre. Learn more about Diani's wild animals.
Colobus Conservation is a non-for-profit organization designed to promote the conservation, preservation and protection of primates like the nationally threatened Angolan Colobus monkey, which you will see in the local forests. It's worth a visit, and children especially will enjoy seeing the monkeys in their enclosure. I also once had to call the team to help rescue a large male colobus monkey, which had slipped off the roof and got injured and I was rather grateful for the expert help! Watch out for the 'Colobridges' which are spanned above the Diani beach road, so no tree-dweller has to cross the dangerous road on foot! If you are interested in sponsoring a 'Monkey Bridge' please get in touch with the Center. Thank you.
