Beauty and tranquility. excellent afternoon at the lake and bua tong waterfalls and huay tung Tao reservoir, trip in taxi cost 1800 baht (total for whole day with driver waiting at each location). The lake is about half an hour out of chiang mai (and an hour from the falls). Could not be more relaxing! Travelling on week day, most of the huts were empty. Beautiful views. Some locals swam also 80 baht ride on a squeaky ancient pedal.

Famous place amongst local people who would spend their Sunday in family. They would grab lunch in one of the hut and is a perfect place to laze away a day under the Thai sun, surrounded by hills and with a lake to swim in at your leisure.

This spot is a hidden Chiang Mai gem! A relaxing place to spend the afternoon....even better come for lunch. I love to walk around the lake, the back drop of the mountains is magnificent.
