Mata La Gata is a wonderful place for families with children. Mata La Gata Island is part of 4 other mangrove islands managed by the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources. Children love to jump and swim at a pool, imagine their eyes when they see this unique natural pool where they can snorkel safely to watch schools of tiny tropical fish. Be sure to take them on a walk along the mangroves, it’s a wonderful educational opportunity. Facilities include picnic tables, gazebos, barbecue pits, composting restrooms, showers, and changing rooms.
