There is a nice walking path around the lake in Delta with a frisbee golf course and a swinging bridge to cross the river at the west end of the lake. Pretty tree-lined paths that run along the river. It is serene and there are usually a lot of birds on the lake.

Go grab a breath of fresh air by taking a walk around the lake! Enjoy the geese, sunrise and sunsets, and my other wildlife you may see along the way!

Confluence Park lies northwest of downtown Delta at the confluence of the Gunnison and Uncompahgre rivers. The 265-acre park offers five miles of trails for walking, sand volleyball courts, dog parks, picnic tables and shelters, a skate park, two ball fields, tennis courts, and 65-acre Confluence Lake. The centerpiece lake is popular in summer, with a boat ramp and dock, non-motorized boat, fishing for stocked trout, handicap-accessible fishing pier, kid’s fishing pond, and swim beach. The north side of the park by the confluence is a natural area with hiking trails shaded by tall cottonwood trees and lots of wildlife, including nesting great blue herons. Local serene lake abundant with water fowl of all kinds surrounded by walking trails, picnic areas, exercise equipment along the trail, and a swinging bridge directly over the confluence of the Uncompaghre and Gunnison Rivers. Tips: *Two miles of good trails thread through trees along the banks of the Gunnison and Uncompahgre rivers near the confluence, offering hikers peace and quiet on the edge of the city bustle. The natural area is a great place for birdwatching, with bald eagles perched in trees and herons fishing in river shallows. A swinging bridge crosses the Uncompahgre River to a short trail that leads north to the river confluence. *Confluence Lake, easily accessible from parking areas on the east and west sides of the lake, offers quality fishing. *Originally the town sewage lagoon, the lake was transformed into a popular fishery. The lake was dredged to a depth of 35 feet for a trout habitat. Anglers catch rainbow trout, catfish, sunfish, bass, and bluegill, depending on the season and water temperatures. *You’re welcome to bring your pooch to the park, but keep him on a leash and pick up after him. Confluence Park also has two dog parks on the north side by the lake for your pup to romp around leash-free. A small fenced area is for small dogs while a big fenced dog park is for big ones.
