In the Bohemian Karst in Central Bohemia, near the village of Mořina u Karlštejna, there is a system of pit limestone quarries connected by underground tunnels. The quarries, which include, among others, the well-known Great America, Little America and Mexico , were established at the end of the 19th century, mining here was subdued in the 1960s of the following century. Ever heard of the grand canyon? This is the smaller canyon, but not a the other side of the world. Really beautiful surroundings and perfect to visit in combination with Castle Karlstejn.
