Bread is the star here, whether heritage grain loaves, sweet pastries or rustic sandwiches. Really nice place to stop by for either a loaf of bread, a dinner date, or a cup of coffee.

World famous bread and pastries. They have a take out door and and dine-in area. Everything is mouth watering good. They roast their own coffee. Check hours first. Medium high prices. Great place to buy food gifts. The original Tartine on Guerrero and 18th is also legendary, but can have long lines and few places to sit. 2 min walk.

Upscale bakery, breakfast and lunch restaurant in the industrial part of the Mission District. Check out Heath Ceramics while you're here (other side of the building).

Great if you like bread, Scandinavian design, or coffee. Their cocktails are pretty darn good too.

The Manufactory is an idea that grew out of Tartine and its ever-evolving philosophy on flavor, craft and human health. We hope the platform of collaboration allows many friends, thought leaders, chefs and farmers to challenge the industry, create beautiful food and improve the livelihoods of every link in the chain. Reservations available for dinner only!

Adjacent to Heath Ceramics and the boiler room gallery, this is a more complete restaurant than the original bakery, but you can get baked goods here as well, with much less of a wait.
