The venue is located outside Broken Hill and has a pitch-black sky on moon-free nights. You will stargaze from a reclined or upright chair outdoors, on a purpose-built stargazing dome. Guests are provided with binoculars. Some viewing is through powerful telescopes. Sky shows are designed for the novice. Your sky guide highlights objects with a laser pointer, narrating the view of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Explore the endless outback sky at Outback Astronomy in Broken Hill. Sky Shows are tailored to suit the evening sky but typically range from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. View planets, the Moon, famous stars, constellations and more across the Milky Way with your naked eyes and through binoculars, with narration by a knowledgeable guide. Additionally, telescopes are included in weekend sky shows. Suitable for all ages (excluding very young children, 5 years and younger). Absolutely wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Book in advance for early in your trip as this is subject to weather conditions & if they have to reschedule you'll need other free nights. Broken Hill is a great spot for stargazing. Add in recliner chairs, snuggly sleeping bags, hot drinks and an incredibly knowledgable guide & you've got a seriously enjoyable activity to do by yourself, with friends or with the family. Be warned, the winter sessions get cold, but it's well worth rugging up for!
