No trip to Butte is complete without a stop at the World Museum of Mining. The collection of historic buildings and mining equipment is a great place to enjoy with the family, and to learn about Butte's mining heritage. The museum is just beyond the Montana Tech campus and within easy walking distance.

Outdoor museum that gives you a great history of Butte and the mining. You can take an underground tour and you pass through the Montana Schools of Mines, a 4 star university for Engineering

If you are into geology or mining history this is the place to go! Only 30 minute drive to Butte.

Butte's history is mining. This museum represents that heritage and includes a replica of an old mining town, old equipment and an underground tour.
