Aan de achterzijde van de paleismuren zijn de Jardines de Murillo, in het midden van dit park is een opvallend monument ter ere van Columbus. Wil je even ontsnappen uit de drukte is dit een heerlijke plek om op een bankje uit te rusten.

Until the early twentieth century the place occupied by the Jardines de Murillo were orchards (Huerta del Retiro) in the gardens of the Alcazar of Seville. In 1911 King Alfonso XIII, at the request of the Mayor Conde de Halcón, ceded these lands to the city.
